Black chia seeds are the tiny black seeds from the plant Salvia Hispanica and are an excellent source of protein and energy. With a dense, crunchy texture and sweet taste, the use of chia seeds varies enormously. They are used: as an egg substitute (acting as a thickener); in sweet bakes; in pasta and other savoury dishes; and as a topping to smoothie bowls. Ours come from Paraguay.
Our jar refills are about 6 tablespoons, which will fill the average spice jar easily.
We source many of our spices from Soil Associate Organic Certified producers and are working towards certification ourselves.
