Method

Our homemade dips with nachos is the ultimate snack. Perfect for a Mexican feast.

Our kit costs £3.00 and serves at least 8.

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan/400°F/ gas mark 6
  2. Begin by prepping the nachos: cut the tortillas with scissors into nacho size pieces
  3. Toss in a baking tray and sprinkle over your nacho Teaspoon Club spice packet evenly, then drizzle over the olive oil and toss again
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning regularly to make sure they don't burn. Remove from the oven when they are golden brown and crispy. While they are baking, make the dips
  5. For the salsa, heat the oil and your Teaspoon Club spice packet in a saucepan or deep frying pan on a medium high heat
  6. Add the onion and fry for 5 minutes until softened
  7. Pour in the chopped tomatoes and bring to a simmer on a medium heat for up to 10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened. Remove the bay leaf and take off the heat. Transfer to a bowl and allow to chill (or even refrigerate) before serving
  8. For the guacamole, peel and core the avocado, scoop out the flesh into a big bowl, and mash the avocado with a fork thoroughly
  9. Finely chop the red onion and tomato, and add it to the bowl. You may wish to use only half an onion, depending on the size of the avocados and preference
  10. Mix well, and pour in your guacamole Teaspoon Club spice packet lime juice
  11. Stir well, and, if you would like a thinner consistency, add a little olive oil to taste
  12. Finally, for the soured cream dip, pour the soured cream into a bowl, sprinkle in your Teaspoon Club spice packet and mix well
  13. You can serve the nachos with all these dips on the side, or follow the instructions on the left to bake the nachos
