What's in the kit?

Our gingerbread layer cake kit comes with two spice mixes: one for the layer cake, and one for the gingerbread shapes. These include premeasured quantities of ginger, ground cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and maca powder, ready to pour in when the recipe requires. It will also include a recipe card, telling you exactly how to make this dish.

What do I need?

For the cake:

Milk (not skimmed) (450ml)
Golden syrup (3 tbsp)
Olive oil (225ml)
Plain flour (375g)
Baking powder (3 tsp)
Bicarbonate of soda (1.5 tsp)
Light brown soft sugar (375g)
Lemon juice (4 tsp)
Eggs (3, beaten)
Dark rum (3 tbsp)
Vanilla extract (1.5 tsp)

For the gingerbread shapes:
Plain flour (175g)
Bicarbonate of soda (.5 tsp)
Butter, salted (50g)
Soft light brown sugar (90g)
Egg (1, beaten)
Golden syrup (2 tbsp)
Icing sugar (300g)
Milk (2 tsp)

For the cake frosting:
Icing sugar (600g)
Butter, salted (250g)
Cream cheese (300g)
Vanilla extract (2 tsp)
Biscuit spread (biscoff spread like Lotus is perfect for the caramel flavour) (300g)
Dessicated coconut (handful, if desired to decorate)
